Who it is for

Built around the site.

Body corporate

Work the committee can read and approve.

Common areas, exteriors, roofs and stairwells. Many owners share one building, so the scope must be clear. A written scope is easier for a committee to approve. Tell us what the work covers and who signs off.

Send the scope

Retail and hospitality

Plan the work around your trading hours.

Shops, cafes, restaurants and bars. Tell us the hours you trade and the hours you are closed. Work after close or at weekends can be part of the plan. Say so in the request.

Tell us the job

Property and facility managers

One request. The whole scope.

Tell us the site, the scope, the access and the hours the building is open. Say if tenants stay in during the work. Say if the site has its own induction or safety rules.

Send the scope

Before you send

What to put in your request.

The more you tell us, the clearer the scope. You can leave out what you do not know.

  • The type of site, and the suburb or town.
  • The trade, and what the work covers. Rooms, floors, walls, roof or square metres.
  • Inside, outside or both.
  • Access. Height, lifts, scaffolding and how to get on the roof.
  • When the site is open, and when work can happen.
  • If tenants, staff or customers stay in during the work.
  • The date the work must be done by.
  • If it is a tender, the closing date.
  • Site rules, such as an induction or a site-specific safety plan.
  • If the building is older, say if it has an asbestos management plan.
  • Any specification, colour schedule or drawings you have.

Questions

Good questions.

Can the work happen after hours or at weekends?

You can ask for it. Pick the hours in the form. Night and weekend work change the plan, so it helps to say early.

What safety plan should a contractor show?

Under the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015, every business on a site has duties. Many sites ask for a site-specific safety plan, or SSSP. Ask to see it before work starts.

Who is responsible for safety when several businesses share a site?

Each business must consult, co-operate and co-ordinate with the others. No business can contract out of its own duties. That includes the building owner or manager.

Can one request cover several sites?

Yes. Pick multi-site in the form. List each site and its suburb in the scope.

Can I send a request for a tender?

Yes. Pick yes for tender and put the closing date in the scope. In preview, no business sees it yet.

Does an older building change the job?

It can. A building built before 2000 may contain asbestos. If the site has an asbestos management plan, say so in the request.

Who sees my request?

Only House Proud Commercial. Your request goes into a private store. While we are in preview, no business gets it.
