Privacy
Written in plain English by our own team. A lawyer will check it and we will update this page.
Last updated 2 November 2026. This page is for New Zealand. It follows the Privacy Act 2020.
Who we are
House Proud is published by Wallace and Henry House Limited (NZBN 9429047622975). Address: 19 Mackelvie Street, Grey Lynn, Auckland. Companies Office record, company number 7666057. The editor is Stanley Henry.
In this page, "we" means the publisher. We are the business that collects your details and holds them. The publisher changes in 2027, when new companies are set up.
House Proud is a referral site. We do not do the work. We pass your job to a business that does.
What we collect
You give us these details in the form:
- Your name.
- Your phone, your email, or both.
- The type of job, a few lines about it, and the suburb or town.
- Your budget band, if you choose to give one.
The form also records the page you sent it from, the time you sent it, how long you took, and that you ticked the box.
We do not store your IP address with your job. To stop spam, we make a short code from your IP address and hold it in temporary memory for about ten minutes. Then it goes.
Our host, Vercel, can keep request logs that include IP addresses. Its runtime logs cover function requests and their output. On our Pro plan, runtime logs are kept for one day. Build logs are kept for the life of each deployment. Source: Vercel runtime log documentation and log limits, checked 2 November 2026.
The site has no sign-in, no advertising, no analytics and no tracking cookies. It loads no third-party scripts. Its own scripts handle the forms and page controls.
Why we collect it
- To pass your job to a business that can do it.
- So that business can contact you about it.
- To keep a record of what we passed on, and to answer questions or complaints.
- To run the site and keep it safe from spam.
We do not use your details to market to you. We do not sell your details to marketers.
Who gets your details
The business that does the work. For painting and plastering jobs in New Zealand, we send your details to Pour, the painting and plastering business, at leads@pourpaintclub.com. The legal operator is Wallace and Henry House Limited, trading as Pour, until its own company is set up. Address: 19 Mackelvie Street, Grey Lynn, Auckland. Companies Office record, company number 7666057.
House Proud and Pour have the same owner. We tell you this so you can choose.
It sends you its own answer. It then holds your details for its own purposes, under its own privacy policy.
Other trades. Spare enquiries, including cleaning, garden, plumbing and electrical jobs, go to the publisher. We hold them; no trade business is selected for them at launch. House Proud is not paid for leads at launch.
Our service providers. These companies are in use at launch to run the site, store your job, sort it and send it on. Each can hold details outside New Zealand.
- Vercel, for hosting and the private store. The store is in Sydney, Australia. The site function runs in Washington, D.C., United States (iad1), as checked in the project settings on 2 November 2026.
- Microsoft, for email.
- Anthropic, for an AI tool that reads and sorts enquiries.
- Attio, for our contact records.
- Slack, for team alerts.
We ask each one to protect your details and use them only for us.
The law. We may share your details if the law requires it, or to prevent a serious threat to safety.
What happens if you do not give it
You must give a name and a phone number or an email. Without them, we cannot pass your job on. The other details help the business do the work. You can leave out the budget band.
How long we keep it
We keep your job for 12 months after you send it. Then we delete it. We may keep it longer if the law says we must, or if a complaint is open.
The business that gets your details sets its own time. See its policy.
Keeping it safe
Your details sit in a private store. Only people who need them can open it. We pass your job to the business by email.
If a breach of your details could cause you serious harm, we tell you and the Privacy Commissioner as soon as we can.
Your rights
You can ask us:
- whether we hold details about you, and to see them;
- to correct them if they are wrong;
- to delete them, or to stop passing them on, when we no longer need them.
Ask the privacy contact below. We answer as soon as we can, and within 20 working days. We may ask you to confirm who you are first. If we passed your details to a business, we tell it about a correction.
These rights come from the Privacy Act 2020. If you think we got it wrong, you can complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner at privacy.org.nz.
